THE STORY BEHIND…

“What big blue beautiful eyes you have!”, “Why don’t you come closer and take a look?” The overwhelming charm of Hemera, goddess of daytime, automatically entices you in and welcomes you with her openhearted demeanour. Her typical Dutch dress, (although no, not all the Dutch strut around with pompoms on their heads), deep blue eyes and blonde hair all add to her allure that could be a 70’s style “I’m Hermera, fly me” airline ad! To add to the ‘Dutchness’ of the piece, the artist uses images of her own hands, as she herself is Dutch.

This series of twelve poppy, colourful, digital collages sees gods and goddesses reborn through a combination of previously produced photographs.
