THE STORY BEHIND…

Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book, translated from Chinese to English and found in Toronto, is to Zhang an exploration of how ideologies transform once they are out of their country of origin. Zhang finds deep parralells between this object and a book on Imperial China written around the same time by her Grandfather, both of which are part of this series.
