THE STORY BEHIND…

Are we seeing double? No, it is in fact the clever technique of our artist who has used the same model twice in this expressive image. We see one girl yearning for sunlight and into her future outside the window, whilst the other stares downwards, perhaps reflecting on the past. The artist knows that many of us have two sides to our personality (yes even the average joes – not just the bipolars amongst us).

Untouchables is a five part photographic series that sees young asian girls trapped in a darkened room, where they remain ‘untouchable’ to the outside world.

Eric Guo (China, 1964) is not your average photographer. Eric Guo is not an average man either. He is a quiet, private man, whose only interest is creating breathtaking works of art. He doesn’t drive a fancy car, and you won’t see him at the next hipster vernissage. Day after day, year after year, you will find him in his studio, perfecting his art. This guy is a force of nature: a poet, an artisan of the image, a fucking genius. Pardon our French.
