THE STORY BEHIND…

Namaste. Sita, the epitome of all Hindu women, provides guidance, courage, and dedication, with her funky flower petal skirt and chic gold bangles. That’s one trendy role model. Maybe we should join her in the Kathakali dance, with its distinctive hand gestures. Hear the drums, feel the rhythm, and off you go!

This series of twelve poppy, colorful, digital collages sees gods and goddesses reborn through a combination of previously produced photographs. As most editions of the artwork have found a new owner already it is under collectors status and therefore a little more pricey than most other works.

artist

Barbara van den Berg (The Netherlands, 1978) is an insanely talented artist. Did you think the Dutch could only paint flowers and cows? Well, you will have to reconsider after seeing her work. Look closer: some of her collages are the mix of up to 40 different characters. Who would have thought a patchwork of people could be that beautiful? She sure did. Is she a visionary? Is she a magician? Go back a few lines: insanely talented, it’s as simple as that.
